Upper School Awards Ceremony, Valedictorian Announced
Upper School students, families, faculty and honored guests gathered to recognize academic, athletic and service achievements and more in the Janet Root Theatre on May 1, 2025. Congratulations to all of our students for an amazing school year!
Congratulations Class of 2025 Valedictorian: Brody Jaquish '25
Congratulations Class of 2025 Salutatorian: Sabrina Everhart '25
The ceremony began with recognition of the Shorecrest Facilities staff for their consistent work every day keeping the campus safe, beautiful and running smoothly - through hurricanes and festive events. Among them were Marcus Holmes, Shane Collins, Joel Aponte, George Carey, Jeannie Cribbs, Brodie Forbes, Jason Gray, Ryan Landreth, William Long, Jeff Vierra, Ron Whiteside, Glen Wakefield and Carl Lewis.
The Elizabeth Samuelson Community Spirit Award was then presented to Marcus Holmes, Director of Facilities, by Nancy Spencer, Head of School. About Marcus she said:
"Marcus’s strategic approach to facilities management has enhanced the school community in so many ways -- whether it is tackling the important issue of deferred maintenance, keeping an eye out on the weather forecasts, or developing relationships with local law authorities such as the Pinellas County Sheriff’s department. Mr. Holmes is an important member of the Senior Administrative Team and his insights and expertise helps to guide our school forward."
