Four Chargers Are National Merit Scholarship Finalists

Shorecrest seniors Kate Carlan '26, Charlie Cowan '26, Hayden Hawkins '26, and Braden Stone '26 have been named 2026 National Merit Scholarship Finalists, putting them among the top 1% of high school students nationwide. Finalists are selected based on academic records, PSAT/NMSQT scores, essays, and school recommendations. The students each received a Certificate of Merit attesting to their distinguished performance in the competition.
National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced between April-July 2026.
National Merit Scholar Corporation is celebrating 70 years of accomplishing its Mission to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States.
