5th Grade Students and Parents "Save Fred!"

On Thursday, 5th Grade science classes started their school year with a fun hands-on lesson. Students were challenged to pull a candy life saver trapped under a plastic cup onto a candy worm using only 4 paper clips! While it was a fun way to start the year, the activity highlighted the importance of practicing problem solving and collaborative skills during science; both skills they will often use throughout the year.
Parents also had an opportunity to try their hands at the challenge later that evening at the Middle School Back to School Night!
