Leading up to Valentines Day, The Experiential School students engaged in activities that were creative and also reinforced some of their cognitive and fine motor skills and their eye/hand coordination. Some of the Alpha students created heart-shaped suncatchers while others preferred to make their decorations with an opaque background.
The Junior Kindergartners enjoyed reinforcing their letter/numeral recognition by playing bingo, their visual perception by matching Valentine cards and their eye/hand coordination by lacing around hearts. They also worked hard writing messages on the Valentines they made for their families.
Before the Valentine parties, the children were busy delivering their Valentines into the right person’s bag by matching the names on their cards to those on the beautifully decorated bags they had created earlier in the week.

Most exciting though, were the fun activities at the actual Valentine's Day parties! From playing with special holiday slime to creating valentine puppets, necklaces, and/or caterpillars, to eating special snacks, playing games and reading Valentines, a wonderful time was had by all.
