Seventh Grade St. Augustine Field Experience

Middle School News

The seventh grade St. Augustine field experience exposed the grade to the contributions and interactions between Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans in colonial America and strengthened the curriculum content covered in seventh grade. The trip also launched a key part of the curriculum, a project-based learning experience: "Disease: Learning from our Past and Ensuring our Future."

Over the three days, the students visited the Castillo de San Marcos, the Colonial Quarter, the St. Augustine lighthouse, the Fountain of Youth, the Spanish Military Hospital, the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Pirate and Treasure Museum, Fort Mose, the Timucuan Ecological Preserve at Fort Caroline, and the Kingsley Plantation.
