More than 2,000 years ago, Aristotle categorized how rhetoric is used in persuasive arguments into three groups: ethos, pathos and logos.
Shorecrest Preparatory School sixth graders learned about these strategies and filmed commercials as a class exercise to demonstrate persuasive techniques in speech and writing. The videos were meant to help students get more comfortable with public speaking and excited about analyzing texts/rhetoric.
The Chargers will also use the persuasive strategies they learned to make "TED Talk"-style videos for their Middle School peers about human rights and environmental issues.
