Homecoming 2025: A Look Back and Forward
Homecoming Week is the longstanding tradition we look forward to every year, embodying all the warmth and energy of our Shorecrest community. This week-long celebration brings together every student, young and old, to show off that incredible Chargers spirit, with friendly competition and much-loved schoolwide Spirit Days!
The fun kicked off with last Friday’s school-wide Pep Rally. First The Experiential School had a memorable mini-rally, an adorable sight to see: the Alphas and JKers cheering alongside varsity football players and cheerleaders—with a special appearance by our beloved Sparky, always a highlight! Then the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools gathered together in the Crisp Gym to celebrate all of our varsity fall athletes. Student emcees Kaelie Dieter ‘26 and Braden Stone ‘26 led the enthusiastic crowd, as various Chargers shared their favorite parts of Homecoming. The loud and enthusiastic crowd filled the packed gym with cheers, high-fives with Sparky, and a wave that circled the room, as students roared their support for the Little Sparks, Middle School and varsity cheer squads. Students participated in games and contests, from relay races to guessing the faculty “Masked Singer” to the fiercely fought tug-of-war competition by grade!
Later that night the Homecoming football game was a huge success, with exciting competition and a Charger victory. The Middle and Upper School band added to the excitement by playing the Shorecrest Fight Song. A special congratulations goes out to our newly crowned Mr. Spirit, Asher Walton '26, and Homecoming Queen, Kaelie Dieter '26. Homecoming was also a wonderful opportunity to welcome our cherished Alumni back home for the weekend. We had a fun Homecoming Tailgate, a Saturday morning tour of campus and an evening Alumni Social for our past Chargers to reconnect.
The energy built throughout this past week, culminating in several fantastic community events. There was the friendly, but spirited Upper School competition for the coveted Homecoming Cup. Our ninth through twelfth graders earned points all week long through themed dress-up days, a food drive for The Kind Mouse, judged class banners, and the exciting Class Competition Day.
This year's competition featured student-created "Hype Videos" and the action-packed Class Competition Day with athletic and trivia challenges. But the spirit isn't limited to our older students. All Chargers, from our littlest learners to our seniors, embrace Spirit Days. A highlight for everyone is Class Color Day, when each grade wears a specific color—purple, red, orange, or blue—which becomes a special part of their Shorecrest identity, helping unite classes across all divisions.
The festivities are scheduled to conclude tomorrow, Saturday, October 25. The day will start with the 3rd annual community-wide Shore to Shorecrest 5k & Sparky Sprint in the morning, followed by the Upper School Homecoming Dance in the evening.
Homecoming Week is a vibrant, unifying tradition that reminds us all what it means to be a Charger!
All the best,
Nancy
