Varsity Golf Chargers Weekly Update

Upper School News

Chargers 170, AFA 204

The Chargers varsity boys golf team took on Admiral Farragut Academy at the Pasadena Yacht Club Golf Course and handily defeated their district rival.

Isabella Dolan '22 also competed against AFA's lone girl golfer and won with an even par 36.

Varsity Golf also competed against Indian Rocks Christian with a final score of 154-185.

The Chargers varsity golf team returned to Largo Municipal to take on Indian Rocks Christian and once again beat their district rivals. Not a single Charger lost their round, including Anna Mesimer '20, who made her high school debut and beat her opponent 50-53!

"I challenged the team to beat their prior round at this course by 1-2 strokes and every golfer did just that. Then to have Anna come out and win her first match was just a bonus," said head coach Matt Thompson.

Varsity Girls Golf at the Mustang Invitational: 4th Place!

The varsity girls golf team participated in the Mustang Invitational, hosted by Northside Christian, at East Bay Golf Course. Playing 18 holes for the first time this season, the young team competed against over 60 golfers on 11 teams. The Chargers finished in 4th place and had two players finish in the top 5 for individual scores! Isabella Dolan '22 and Sophia D. '26 both shot an incredible 79! Rebecca Davis '23, Sofiya Idiyatullina '23, and Mia L. '24 all had awesome rounds of their own.

"What a great day on the golf course for this group of players. They are all such great kids and are really starting to play some good golf. I'm looking forward to seeing what this group can do going forward," said Coach Matt.
