Shorecrest Students film Screened at All American High School Film Festival

Upper School News

Congratulations to Kiley Hudson ‘20 and Marielle Santo ‘19 whose documentary film, “Food Waste in America,” was selected to screen at the 2017 All American High School Film Festival at the AMC in New York City’s Times Square.

The pair created the documentary last year in their Digital Filmmaking class, taught by Upper School Arts faculty Aaron Sober and Bill Leavengood. Nearly 2,000 films were submitted from 50 states and 40+ countries.

Reflecting on the experience, Kiley said, “It was cool to be selected because entry into the festival was very competitive and I think it’s an accomplishment!” The festival was an opportunity to meet other young filmmakers and become inspired by each other's work.
