Student Newspaper, The Chronicle, is a Crown Finalist

Upper School News

Shorecrest Upper School’s student-driven newspaper, The Chronicle, has been named a 2026 Crown Finalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), placing it among the best scholastic newspapers in the nation. The prestigious Crown Awards recognize excellence in student journalism each year.

The Chronicle earned finalist honors in the High School Hybrid News category, reflecting the strength of both its print publication and online presence. This marks the first time the paper has reached this level of national recognition.

Each year, a panel of Crown Judges convenes at Columbia University to review entries from across the country. Gold and Silver Crown winners will be announced in March at the CSPA Spring Convention.
