Students Emulate Hispanic Icons
For their Inspiring Hispanic People unit, Shorecrest fourth graders researched notable Hispanic individuals from a variety of fields to learn about their accomplishments, contributions and lasting impact. They explored each person’s life, achievements, and legacy - then shared their learning with other grades in Sra Emili's class through research presentations.
In addition to their presentations, students included a creative and interactive component that engaged their audience in the type of work their chosen individual was known for. Activities included creating artwork, cooking, playing sports, playing guitar, dancing and more. This unit provided a meaningful, hands-on, and engaging way for students to connect with and celebrate Hispanic culture and achievements.
