STEAM Certificate Presentations
Shorecrest Upper School students pursuing a STEAM Signature Program certificate presented their self-directed, culminating projects relevant to their STEAM specialty area: Engineering, Medical Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Arts, Performing Arts or Entrepreneurship and Design. Members of the Shorecrest community were invited to attend as students presented their projects and answered questions at a drop-in session on April 29. Parents, Lower School students, teachers and peers were interested in the projects and peppered students with questions.
Their advisor and teacher, Dr. Anna Baralt, said, "The Class of 2026 STEAM candidates have spent their year diving deep into their specialized field to solve real world problems, and this showcase is their opportunity to share their findings with you and the community."

Shorecrest's STEAM Certificate Program is a pathway for Upper School students (grades 9-12) to pursue STEAM-related coursework that allows them to apply critical thinking and 21st Century skills while investigating a specialized area of interest. In addition to taking at least three courses within their area of study, students must participate in the Seminar in Applied STEAM and Entrepreneurship during their senior year after all required coursework. They work on a self-directed culminating project relevant to their specialty area.
