Chargers Nominated for Broadway Star of the Future Awards

In November 2024, Shorecrest Performing Arts presented "The Play That Goes Wrong." In April 2025 they performed the musical “The Addams Family.” These productions were reviewed as part of the Broadway Star of the Future program presented by the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Under direction of the US Theatre and Thespian Director, Michael McCarthy, the following Chargers have been nominated for Broadway Star of the Future Awards:

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURED ROLE IN A MUSICAL
Boston Littlepage-Santana ‘28 - “The Addams Family”

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN A LEADING ROLE IN A MUSICAL
Remy deParis ‘25 - “The Addams Family”
Kaelie Dieter ‘26 - ”The Addams Family”

Broadway Star of the Future winners and scholarship recipients will be announced during the Broadway Star Of The Future Awards Showcase on May 18, 2025, at the Straz Center’s Ferguson Hall.

Broadway Star of the Future Awards are Regional awards affiliated with the National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) or the Jimmy™ Awards. At the showcase in Tampa, two musical theatre performers will be invited to attend the Jimmy Awards / National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City, expenses paid. Participants experience a week of private coaching, master classes, and rehearsals with theatre professionals and they receive opportunities for merit scholarships, professional advancement, and other prizes. Jimmy™ Awards are then awarded to two grand prize winners.
