Chargers Tour Berlin, Stockholm and Helsinki
From July 5-15, 2025, eighteen Shorecrest Upper School Students traveled to Berlin, Stockholm and Helsinki with EF Educational Tours.
One of the highlights while in Berlin was the students’ participation in the 2025 Global Leadership Summit on “Future Readiness in a Changing World,” where students from around the world collaborated to create prototypes to solve current and future global issues. Cole Oman ‘26 and his team were one of the final eight groups with their product “Pause,” which was designed to assist teens with anxiety.
While in Berlin students also visited Checkpoint Charlie, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and remnants in the Berlin Wall.
Students then took a flight to Stockholm where they visited City Hall, the Vasa Museum and partook in a daily fika - the Swedish tradition of an afternoon pasty and coffee.
An overnight cruise to Helsinki was next. While there they learned about the Finnish education system, visited a sauna, and swam in the cold Baltic Sea. It was a very memorable trip and the students had a wonderful time learning about new places and traditions.
Kayla Brazee, Director of GSI, is offering an EF trip to Australia and New Zealand to rising 10th-12th graders in July of 2026. Details were shared with Upper School families in Mr. Schneider's Head's Letter: This Week in Upper School - August 25, 2025.
