Ninth graders were off campus last week for two days of cooperative bonding activities. At Freshmen Retreat, students have the opportunity to bond as a class, grow as individuals, and enjoy some interactive, outdoor activities (such as canoeing, ropes courses, etc.). Freshman Shannon R. had this to report about the field experience:
"Freshman Retreat was a great time for the grade, and I think most people really enjoyed themselves! I loved getting to really connect with my advisory, and get to know the students new to Shorecrest, as well as kids that I had known for most of my life but never gotten to know. I feel like I got closer with my friends, and even gained some new ones. We did a ton of interesting team building activities, and went on some cool outings like night hikes, canoeing, rock climbing, zip lining and swimming. Even though one day it rained, my advisory and our counselor managed to turn it into a really fun day, which I actually enjoyed more than the day it didn't rain. I had a lot of fun, and I hope my classmates did too!"
