Last weekend, both of the Upper School robotics teams, 6104A (Autonomoose) and 6104B (Chargers), went to River Ridge High School to compete in their final robotics qualifier. The day involved competing with 28 other teams from the Tampa Bay area. Both of our teams finished as a top 8 team.
The teams worked hard to improve their designs, mechanical systems and sensors since their last competition, and modified their coding to add new functionalities.
While they did not make it to the finals, both teams did very well, including 6104A who made it to the semi-finals. They also competed in the skills challenges offered after the competition. During the challenge, driver and programming skills are challenged. Each team is given one minute to score as many points as possible in each of those areas. 6104A scored 57 points and our 6104B team scored 102. Based on their skills score, 6104B was able to qualify for the FL State Championships, which will be held at Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa on Monday, February 19.
Congratulations to everyone on a great qualifier and for their hard work this season. Looking forward to seeing the team at the Florida State Championships!
