Relay For Life Recap

Upper School News

Friday, April 7th was the 12th annual Relay For Life at Shorecrest. From early in the morning till late in the evening after the sun had set, guests from all around St. Petersburg came out on to the field for the same goal: to fight back against cancer.

Not only did we fight back, but we also celebrated. We celebrated our survivors and caregivers in the opening walk. We celebrated our community with the whole school lap. We celebrated and remembered those we have lost during luminaria. And furthermore, we celebrated the qualities that make us unique through the theme of the Olympics! We had over 15 countries represented from all across the globe.

Personally, I must say that this was the most fun Relay yet!

On behalf of the Relay For Life committee here at Shorecrest, I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this year’s event. Because of the overwhelming community support this year, we not only met our goal of raising $95,000 but surpassed that number by over $15,000, bringing the total currently to $111,000!

Thank you, Shorecrest, for joining the fight back against cancer!
