Senior Spotlight: Brody Jaquish ’25
Valedictorian of the Class of 2025, Brody Jaquish ’25 is known for his intellect, humility, and quiet leadership. These traits have left a lasting impression on the Shorecrest community since he first arrived in eighth grade. Described by Upper School faculty as an “old soul,” Brody brings a rare blend of curiosity, compassion, and conviction to everything he does.
A passionate scholar of math and science, Brody has earned the Excellence in Science Award, the Excellence in Mathematics Award, and achieved the prestigious Top Scholar for both his sophomore and junior years. An AP Scholar with Distinction, he completed 11 AP classes (the maximum a Shorecrest student can take), while maintaining straight A’s and a 4.84 GPA. He is a National Merit Finalist and member of the Cum Laude Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Spanish Honor Society.
Brody served as President of the Pre-Med Club where his respect for others shone just as brightly as his academic achievements. He’s also an accomplished athlete, having competed in soccer, cross country, and track, and a dedicated community servant—founding the “Seniors Helping Seniors” initiative to bridge the tech gap for local elderly residents.
Reflecting on his time at Shorecrest during his Commencement address, Brody shared: “I’ve been at Shorecrest since 8th grade, starting right in the thick of COVID. While adjusting to a new school with all of the restrictions was difficult, the students I was surrounded by made it seem easy.”
This fall, Brody will continue his academic journey at the University of Florida, majoring in biomedical engineering. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, empathy, and quiet leadership—one that will inspire Chargers for years to come.
