Senior Spotlight: Lili Scoby ’25

Upper School News

A dedicated and well-rounded student-athlete, Lili Scoby ’25 graduates from Shorecrest Preparatory School with a strong academic record, a deep commitment to service, and a breadth of co-curricular experience. She earned a STEAM Certificate with a concentration in Medical Engineering, completing rigorous coursework including AP Computer Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, and a capstone in applied STEAM.

Lili makes connections across her many interests and disciplines of study. For example, her STEAM capstone project "Revolutionizing Recovery: All-in-one Ankle Therapy Sock" aimed to solve a real-world problem faced by athletes, like herself, speeding recovery and reducing downtime. A Shorecrest Lifer and former FIRST LEGO League competitor, Lili is a mentor to younger students in FIRST LEGO League, is a regular volunteer at campus events like St. Pete STEAMfest, and has participated in programs including the USF Marine Science Oceanography Camp for Girls.

Throughout high school, Lili balanced academics with competitive athletics. A five-year varsity soccer player at Shorecrest and a member of the Tampa Bay United ECNL club team, she has been recognized on the ECNL Southeast All-Conference Second Team and played a key role in multiple state-level finishes for the Shorecrest Chargers.

Outside of the classroom and athletic fields, Lili co-founded “Beyond the Books,” a student club focused on teaching life skills. Her community service includes beach cleanups, providing technology assistance to the elderly, and mentoring young students in STEM.

Lili will continue her academic and athletic journey at American University, where she plans to study physics and biomedical engineering and play collegiate soccer. “Lili never shies away from a challenge, whether in the classroom or on the field. She understands that failure isn’t something to fear but rather it is part of the learning process. There is no doubt she will do great things.”
