This week Middle and Upper Schools welcomed a production of Shakespeare’s "Julius Caesar" presented by Asolo Rep and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. Their educational tour brings exciting 45-minute adaptations of classic literature to schools and community venues throughout the state of Florida. Shakespeare’s original language comes alive through energetic contemporary staging, performed by the talented young artists of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory. In this case, the story of Caesar was told as an '80s corporate takeover.
How fortuitous that ninth grade English teacher Ms. Ekblad was already introducing the play “Julius Caesar” to her classes, toga and all! The students were exposed to a myriad of different interpretations as a prep for the FSU production. Mr Heller also helped by giving the students historical context of the story. A happy crosscurricular experience was enjoyed by all.
