Shorecrest seniors Mitchell Greene '18 and Hunter Holland '18 have advanced as Semifinalists in the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Both Greene and Holland have been recognized because of their exceptional performances on the ACT/SAT.
Approximately 6,000 candidates were selected from nearly 3.4 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2018. Of those 6,000 nominees, only 10% move on to semifinalist status. Presidential Scholars will be named on or around May 8th.
Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, now in its 54th year, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Scholars are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities.
