Shorecrest School

Senior Spotlight: Sabrina Everhart '25

Upper School News

Sabrina Everhart '25 exemplifies scholarship, leadership and dedication to service. Whether leading the School's Honor Council, hosting an Asian Student Union meeting, making waves as the captain of the Swim & Dive team, or excelling in any one of her 11 Advanced Placement courses, Sabrina is an exceptional portrait of a Shorecrest graduate.

The Salutatorian of the Class of 2025, Sabrina completed an academic course load that is among the most rigorous at Shorecrest, encompassing the maximum Advanced Placement courses permitted, in addition to 16 Honors classes across all core disciplines. Her intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for learning make her a standout among faculty, who describe her as someone who “genuinely loves to learn,” “holds herself to a high standard,” and is “one of the happiest and most upbeat students I have ever taught.” She is widely recognized for her excellent writing skills and thoughtful class engagement.

Perhaps equal to her academic accomplishments are her contributions to the school community through leadership and service. She has served on the Honor Council since her sophomore year, rising to the role of President in her senior year. She also served as the Co-president of the Asian Student Union, as well as Vice President of SPARC, an organization dedicated to advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.

A passionate advocate for equity and inclusion, Sabrina was selected as a representative of Shorecrest at the NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference and was invited to present to the Shorecrest Board of Trustees as well as to lead a professional development session entitled Learning from the Kids: DEI from Students’ Perspectives for Shorecrest faculty. In January 2025, Sabrina was recognized by the University of South Florida with an MLK Service Award for her service, her leadership and advancing the ideals of Dr. King.

Sabrina has taken advantage of the many opportunities open to her as a Shorecrest student, notably, her participation in the rigorous Global Scholars Initiative. Her project - China’s Perspective on the Taiwan Conflict: Strategic Interests & National Identity - earned her high marks and the GSI distinction on her Shorecrest diploma.

But Sabrina does not just take advantage of opportunities, she also creates them. In her senior year, she co-founded a DECA business and entrepreneurship club chapter at Shorecrest, recruiting nearly 40 Upper School students to be a part of the global organization that prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Sabrina, alongside fellow senior Alanys Requena '25, advanced in a national competition, representing the School at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta in April 2025.

Her leadership and talents extend into athletics as well as the arts - Sabrina is the captain of the Shorecrest Chargers Swim & Dive team; she is also a member of the New Horizons Band of Gulfport, a senior community concert band, where she is a flutist.

Sabrina's signature work ethic, commitment and care for others leaves a lasting positive impact on Shorecrest. Sabrina will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.
